As most of us get ready to turn over the final page of our 2008 calendars, I wanted to provide an important reminder to those of you out there who are considering registering your own team to compete for the Google Lunar X PRIZE:
The registration fee for the Google Lunar X PRIZE goes up from $10,000 (USD) to $30,000 (USD) on January 1st, 2009. To save yourself $20,000, be sure to do one of the folowing two things today: either send in your complete registration package including the fee, or start the registration process by sending in your Letter of Intent form and its associated $1,000 (USD) fee, followed by sending in the remaining forms and remaining $9,000 (USD) within 90 days.
In the grand scheme of the competition, this $20,000 difference isn't all that large--afterall, most teams are talking about spending tens of millions of dollars. But still, there's no need for any team to leave money on the table when they don't need to do so!
My mailbox has been very busy over the past few weeks with new registrations and new letters of intent. I hope to see many more coming in in over the rest of the day!
