Installed and ready for robotic spacecrafts, Spaceport America, the world's first purpose-built commercial spaceport, has completed engineering three Lunar Lander Launch Pads in preparation for NASA's 2009 Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge. The pads, named 'Tranquility Base' in honor of Apollo 11, are located in New Mexico and available for use by any team competing in the Challenge (though, use of the pads are optional). Additionally, the launch pads will be available for various educational opportunities and commercial space organizations.

New Mexico is no stranger to space exploration, having been a fantastic host to the Challenge from 2006-2008. We know teams will really enjoy collaborating with the good people of the state and the Spaceport Authority.
